WANG
CHUNG is an english new wave band created in 1979 in London by JACK
HUES (singer, born on the 10/12/1954 in Gillingham/Kent), NICK FELDMAN
(bass/synths, born on the 01/05/1955 in London) and DARREN COSTIN
(drums). At
the outset, the band's spelling was HUANG CHUNG until 1983. WANG CHUNG
begins to take off heavily with "DANCE HALL DAYS" (#2 in Italy
in may 1984, #3 in Belgium, #5 in Germany, Canada and in Switzerland, #7 in Australia and #9 in the
Netherlands). DARREN
leaves them in 1985. Reduced to a duet, the band gives up Geffen
signing with A&M. This period give them their greatest US hit "EVERYBODY
HAVE FUN TONIGHT" (#1 in
South Africa and #2 in the USA). WANG CHUNG splits in 1991. Return of the band in 1997.
